When you book with Mark Cooper photography, you will know at the time of booking exactly who is shooting your wedding. In fact, this will be known to you when your appointment to meet with us is booked. For example, you may have attended a wedding that one of our photographers photographed. If you ask for a specific photographer you will be immediately informed as to their availability. If they're available then you will come in to meet with Mark and that specific photographer. If on the other hand your requested photographer is booked, Mark will suggest one of our photographers. You then have the option to decide whether or not you wish to come in and meet with us. When you meet with us you will make a decision to hire us based upon the strength of that photographers portfolio and personality. Failing a serious illness or other situation beyond our control, the photographer you hire is the photographer that will shoot your wedding.
.When you come in to meet with us we will first give you an overview of our company; Who we are, how we work and what you should expect. We will also ask you questions about your wedding and your own expectations regarding wedding photography. You are free to ask as many questions as you like. Consultations are for your benefit and are most effective when they're highly interactive. This is your opportunity to get a sense of who the photographer you may be hiring really is. We will discuss how we approach wedding photography, our package options and pricing, how we process your images and much much more. Our goal is to be as upfront and honest with you so that you can make the most informed decision possible. We recognize that many of our clients book us over a year in advance. We truly want you to book with confidence. We don't want you stressing and second guessing such an important decision. When you review the photographer's portfolio, we will make it clear that what is being shown to you truly reflects a cross section of that photographers work. The work that our other photographers produce is irrelevant to the discussion. Again, our goal at a consultation is simply to give you the most honest and accurate information possible. Under no circumstances will we pressure you to book on the sport. If we're successful then hopefully we will leave you with a favourable impression. Our business is heavily referral based. If we make you happy then perhaps we'll get referrals from you as well.
.Generally speaking no. However, if you have a large number of family members or specific combinations of people that you'd like photographed then certainly go ahead and supply one. It can save time as we can get family members organized for their shots.
.An hour and a half is typical and is normally sufficient time to capture the family members, bridal party and of course the bride and groom. An hour is doable but it's likely that there won't be time for some of the shots we like to get. Two hours is generous and any more than that tends to be overkill. That said, it's really up to you so use this as a guideline.
This is a question that comes up frequently. It really depends on how much time is allotted for photography after the ceremony, where your ceremony and reception are being held as well as the distance between locations. Experience has shown that more than one location often requires two hours of photography.
We will work with you to decide upon a suitable location. Often this is predetermined simply by the nature of the wedding. We have experience with many locations that work well and will offer ideas based on the location of your venues and your requested stye, urban vs. country for example.
We always give you a full set of fully worked up high resolution images on DVD(s). Strictly speaking we still retain copyright. However, you are free to print, post to the web and do pretty much whatever you want with them short of selling or publishing the images.
No, the images you receive will be free of watermarks.
While we strongly encourage you to immediately make a backup copy of your images and store them in a safe place, perhaps a safety deposit box, we do keep your images for at least five years. It is also a good idea to occasionally make a new set of DVDs as they do deteriorate over time.
Yes we will travel to your wedding. If travel time is one hour or less then we will not charge you.
Destination weddings continue to increase in popularity. We will happily discuss shooting your destination wedding. Bringing your own photographer is not as extravagant as you might think. Most resorts have a staff photographer. However, bringing one that YOU selected will give you peace of mind that your wedding images will meet YOUR expectations.
